Tips For Your First Endometriosis Laparoscopy

Having your first laparoscopy is scary. For one, this is going to be where you find out if you have endometriosis or not. And two, if you haven’t had surgery before it can be nerve-wracking. I mean hell, even if you have had surgery it’s always scary. I’ve had 4 laparoscopies for Endometriosis so far, yet I’m always a little nervous. That’s why I’ve come up with this checklist to help other women know what to expect on surgery day, what to bring with them, and what to do afterward at home and at post-op.

2020 EndoMarch Heroes of the Year

The opportunity to observe Dr. Nezhat for 2 months was an important point in my life. Prior to this, I had heard about endometriosis a few years ago when I recorded patient education videos with an OBGYN in Turkey. Even though I found it very interesting, the estimated incidence of 1 in 10 seemed unrealistic.

In Loving Memory of Elise Elizabeth Travers

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Elise Elizabeth Travers, noted philanthropist, endometriosis advocate and Board Member of Worldwide EndoMarch and Worldwide Endometriosis Day. She also served as President of the New York chapter of Worldwide EndoMarch. Ms. Travers passed away peacefully on September 4, 2019 after an extended illness.

We’d like to congratulate this year’s fabulous line up of Worldwide EndoMarch and Nezhat Family Foundation award recipients, all of whom are inspirational leaders in the endometriosis advocacy community, who have gone above and beyond to support endometriosis sufferers and Worldwide EndoMarch awareness efforts. The dedication and compassion this year’s award recipients have shown to those suffering from endometriosis has made a lasting positive impact and no doubt each of these trailblazers will continue to soar as shining examples of the best and brightest in the field of patient advocacy.

Premed Students Nominated for Advocacy Award

Premedical students from San Jose State University, UC Berkeley, and UCLA , were recently chosen as the 2019 recipients of the Worldwide EndoMarch’s Women’s Health Leaders of the Future award, for their outstanding contributions in patient advocacy as volunteers for the Worldwide EndoMarch.
