Los Angeles City Hall Lit Yellow for Endo for the First Time

A big shout out to Sarah Yvonne, creator of the Instagram account, @sicker_than_your_average, who’s achieved an historic moment for the Endometriosis Community, by organizing the yellow lighting of Los Angeles City Hall, in solidarity with Endometriosis Fighters around the world as we amplify our advocacy work during Endometriosis Awareness Month 2024.

As Sarah wrote in her post,

” Tonight Los Angeles City Hall is illuminated yellow in Honor of Endometriosis Awareness month. ⁣

🎗Endometriosis is a public health issue and too many patients have to fight to access expert care. The barriers we must overcome feel never ending and with no cure for Endometriosis in sight, it is imperative we come together to spread awareness and build an inclusive community in Los Angeles for all individuals suffering with Endometriosis. ⁣

I want to thank L.A. city council member @eunisses2022 @cd1losangeles and her staff for working with me to pass a resolution recognizing March as Endometriosis Awareness month and illuminating Los Angeles City Hall yellow in solidarity with Endometriosis patients, providers, and advocates around the world. ⁣

Recognizing Endometriosis as a whole body disease and acknowledging that we must increase public understanding of Endometriosis, as well as dispel misconceptions around the disease, is an important first step to securing positive outcomes for Endometriosis patients in Los Angeles. Thank you again Los Angeles City council members for voting to pass this resolution and lighting up downtown yellow tonight. “⁣
